Build confidence and reduce stressMusic is a dimension for health and well-being....
Our belief and intention is to feel comfortable, nurtured, and safe in a creative experience while expanding abilities and breaking down barriers pertaining to imagination and expressivity. "....Music-making can short-circuit the stress response, research shows, and keep it from becoming chronic. When our senses detect a possible threat in the environment, the body undergoes a chain reaction in which genes within each cell switch on, directing the cells to produce chemicals associated with the stress response. Playing music sets off an opposite chain reaction that switches these genes off again." |
Strengthen cognitive abilities
Listening to, playing, singing, studying, and memorizing music, be it classical, jazz, or other genre, especially those that incorporate improvisation, harmonic and rhythmic nuance, enhances brain functions such as reading and literacy skills, learning new languages, mathematical abilities, improved memory, spatial-temporal reasoning, emotional intelligence, critical evaluation and increased analytical sophistication and perception. Neuro-muscular receptivity, accuracy, flexibility, control, balance, and groundedness are also improved when music is performed with proper physical technique.
